Volunteer With Us
Give Your Time
While volunteer duties are not glamorous, it IS rewarding! Your time and energy make a BIG difference in the lives of our animals. Volunteers provide care to the animals in our temporary shelters, including cleaning cages and enclosures, feeding, watering, restocking supplies, washing dishes, doing laundry, walking dogs, or socializing animals as directed. We do most of our work between 8 am and 12 pm so we prefer you come during that time. If this is not always convenient please come when you are able. Although we do not ask for you to be on a schedule, we prefer if you let us know ahead of time when you are coming so we can plan accordingly. Email firstname.lastname@example.org
You must be at least 18 years old or older to volunteer with the animals.
We do accept student volunteers 16 – 18 yrs, who are applying for an academic scholarship programs such as Florida Bright Futures.
Students may work Saturday and Sunday mornings on the cat side with permission from their parents. Sorry, we cannot accommodate after school volunteers.
We also accept Community Service Volunteers to help at the shelter with the appropriate paperwork.
We always need volunteers to come walk our dogs. It’s great exercise for both the dog and you! A mandatory Dog Walking orientation is provided every First and Third Saturday of the month at 9 am. Please RSVP with your name and contact information along with the date you plan on attending to email@example.com.
Long pants and closed toe shoes with a non-slip sole are a must. Tee shirts are available for sale at the shelter for $10, however you may choose to wear your own. Remember you are a representative of the shelter!
We also need volunteers interested in working on our committees, such as fundraising, events, and grant writing.
Volunteer applications are available at the shelter or you can download one here…
